Medications to Field

  • x3 1L saline 
  • x2 marcaine 0.25% with epi
  • x2 1g vanc powder   
    • reconstituted with 10mL of injectable saline (each)
  • Betadine paint for implants
  • Holy water
    • Polymixin B   
    • Gentamicin

Equipment

  • Neptune
  • Cautery   
    • 35 cut/35 coag
  • Harmonic/Enseal
  • Bear Hugger (Lower)
  • SCD’s
  • Scale
  • Probe from NucMed (if doing nodes)

Supplies:

  • Chicken buckets to send off to path/weigh for breast tissue (x2)
  • Breast implants/Alloderm matrix from supervisors office
    • Rep: Art Vinson from Allergan
  • Breast sizer (may come from breast implant cart or brought by rep- unknown)
  • Bras (under sink cabinet between OR 6 & 8 or in tucked away KLS cabinet behind 10)
    • Check in chart notes for current bra size & implant size possibility

Positioning

  • Supine, arms out on armboards
  • Safety strap on upper thighs & below knee

Lines

Surgeon may want foley, ask to be safe. Ensure patient voids before rolling.

Prep

Chloraprep stick   

  • Chin, neck, shoulders, axilla (even to chin/neck), abdomen (to umbilicus), side of abd all the way to the bed sheet

Notes

Ask patient if they have a bra/current bra size.
